Eastport Limited, a 100% export-oriented garment manufacturing company located in the Cumilla EPZ and a subsidiary of Portwest (Ireland), is seeking a Safety Officer to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations across its high-SMV protective workwear production facilities. The role involves implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of workplace safety in alignment with BEPZA and international standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations, BEPZA guidelines, and international standards across all factory operations.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Organize and lead fire drills, emergency evacuation drills, and safety training programs for workers and staff.
• Monitor use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper handling of machinery and chemicals.
• Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, or near-misses and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of safety checks, incident reports, and training activities.
• Collaborate with department heads to implement and update safety procedures and corrective actions.
• Promote a proactive safety culture by encouraging hazard reporting and employee involvement.
• Liaise with external safety inspectors and regulatory bodies as required.
• Continuously assess and improve the factory’s overall safety management system.
• Knowledge of Fire Detection/Protection Systems, NFPA, BNBC, RSC

Academic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Arts (BA)
• Concentration/Major: Graduate/Masters in any discipline
