The Manager – Engine Workshop at Meghna Transport Company Limited is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of vehicle engines to ensure operational efficiency and fleet reliability. The role involves managing workshop operations, supervising technical staff, implementing preventive maintenance schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The incumbent also coordinates with operations and logistics teams to minimize downtime and optimize performance of the transport fleet.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee periodic inspection of all company vehicles to identify defects and ensure high-quality repair and preventive maintenance.
- Supervise and manage workshop operations, including mechanics and junior staff, ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement monthly maintenance plans, schedules, and reports to ensure fleet reliability and minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with vehicle manufacturers and external vendors (e.g., Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Runner Motors) to resolve complex technical issues and ensure service quality.
- Oversee the installation, monitoring, and performance of vehicle tracking systems and fuel sensors across fleet and depot operations.
- Ensure prompt decision-making and effective solutions in case of vehicle breakdowns, maintenance failures, and road accidents.
- Manage procurement and quality assurance of spare parts, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal resource utilization.
- Establish and maintain accurate documentation and reporting systems for all workshop activities, including tyres, batteries, lubricants, and spare parts.
- Ensure end-to-end maintenance management of all company vehicles and equipment to support uninterrupted operations.
- Lead accident management processes, including recovery, repair coordination, investigation, and reporting of incident-related vehicles.
- Oversee driver evaluation processes, including interviews, performance monitoring, and compliance with operational standards.
- Drive implementation of technical systems and process improvements, including fleet tracking and maintenance technologies.
- Execute strategic initiatives and special projects as assigned by senior management to enhance workshop performance and operational excellence.
