Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic finance professional to lead the Finance & Accounts function within our freight forwarding and logistics operations. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, overseeing reconciliations, and ensuring full regulatory and statutory compliance. The incumbent will align financial practices with international freight forwarding and logistics standards, support business growth through strategic financial planning, and provide insightful analysis to senior management for effective decision-making.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and oversee all finance & accounts functions including General Ledger, A/P, A/R, reconciliations, and fund management.
  2. Establish, implement, and enforce internal financial policies, controls, and SOPs to ensure financial discipline and transparency.
  3. Ensure timely collection of freight receivables and strict enforcement of credit control policies.
  4. Perform comprehensive Statement of Accounts (SOA) reconciliation with overseas freight agents, co-loaders, airlines, and shipping lines.
  5. Monitor and ensure timely settlement of overseas agent payments within operational deadlines.
  6. Prepare monthly Bangladesh Bank reports and maintain encashment certificates in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  7. Verify and ensure accuracy of all compliance documentation including VAT, AIT, TDS, and CNF certificates.
  8. Ensure timely submission of VAT returns, tax filings, and statutory payments as per government regulations.
  9. Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance.
  10. Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts, and conduct variance analysis for management review.
  11. Maintain healthy cash flow and working capital to ensure uninterrupted logistics operations.
  12. Conduct profitability analysis of shipments, customers, and trade lanes to support pricing and business decisions.
  13. Coordinate closely with Operations, Sales, and Customs teams to ensure seamless financial workflow.
  14. Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure accountability, performance excellence, and operational efficiency.

Academic Qualifications:
  • Master of Commerce (Mcom)
  • Concentration/Major: MBA in Accounting or Finance or related field.
Professional Certifications:
  • CA/ ACCA/ CMA/ CIMA will be considered a distinct advantage
